Mexican Consulate’s three-day health fair
1/23, 1/24, 1/26
Free cholesterol and glucose exams, HIV tests and other health services will be available at the Mexican Consulate’s three-day health fair, beginning Monday [January 23, 2012].
The services are open to the public, not only Mexican nationals, and require no appointment.
The fair runs from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., and each of the three days will feature a different set of services.
Monday’s session will provide education on breast and cervical cancer, including information on prevention and early detection. On Tuesday [January 24, 2012], the fair will offer HIV tests that require no needle and produce results within 20 minutes.
Thursday’s [January 26, 2012] event will offer an array of health tests, including cholesterol, glucose, blood pressure, body-mass index, and dental exams.
Representatives will also be on hand to provide information about medical and dental insurance. (There are no activities Wednesday.)
The fair is organized jointly by the West Sacramento-based nonprofit Health Education and Council and the consulate’s Ventanilla de Salud program. It takes place at the consulate, at 2093 Arena Blvd., Sacramento.
