The California Office of Statewide Health Planning and Development posted online hospital mortality (death) rates measuring hospitals’ performance on three medical conditions:
- Acute stroke;
- Gastrointestinal bleeding; and
- Hip fracture.
The study also evaluated hospitals' performance on certain surgical procedures, ultimately helping improve patient care and survival rates.
