Board of Directors
CPC’s Board of Directors is committed to the mission of the organization and oversees its focus of providing solutions to healthcare issues that will result in balanced healthcare projects and improvements in patient care. The Board of Directors meets quarterly to ensure that the mission, goals and objectives are being upheld. Below is a list of our Board members and a link to biographical information.
Chair
Timothy M. Tift
Professor, University of California, Irvine
Mr. Tim Tift holds a Master of Arts degree in Education Administration and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Physical Education from Pepperdine University. Currently, he is the Faculty Advisor and Instructor to the Undergraduate Minor in Educational Studies. Additionally, Mr. Tift is a Lecturer in the Department of Education. Also, he serves in the Teacher Credential Programs and M.A.T. as an Instructor.
Mr. Tift, in addition to his numerous achievements at the University of California, Irvine, has also received the 1998 UNEX Distinguished Faculty Award. He brings forty years of teaching, counseling and administrative experience to the implementation of the Minor in Education. In 2004, he had the honor of being inducted into the UC Irvine Athletic Hall of Fame.
Mr. Tift brings a patient’s perspective to the Board having undergone several surgeries (eye, knee replacement, foot, rotator cuff on both shoulders, colon, back) over the last 10 years.

Jane E. Hirsch, RN, MS
Associate Clinical Professor

Jane Hirsch, RN, MS, is Associate Clinical Professor in the UCSF School of Nursing, and is Director of the Nursing Administration Graduate Program. Her responsibilities include curriculum design, teaching, student advising/mentoring, as well as participation in leadership aspects of the Department of Community Health Systems in the School.
Prior to her role on the UCSF School of Nursing faculty, Ms Hirsch served as the Chief Nursing Officer for 9 years at UCSF Medical Center. In this role, Ms. Hirsch was responsible for ensuring patient care quality and safety, nursing recruitment and retention, staff satisfaction, collaboration with other health care professionals, participation in strategic planning for the Medical Center, and representing patient care issues to Medical Center executive leadership.
She is a graduate of the Sinclair School of Nursing at the University of Missouri-Columbia, and received her graduate degree from the UCSF School of Nursing. She is an editor of Clinical Nursing, now in its 5th edition, and has consulted and presented nationally and internationally on nursing leadership issues.
Thomas May
Mr. Thomas May received a bachelor’s degree in social science from California State University, Northridge in 1970 and a M.B.A. from the University of California, Irvine in 1976. Mr. May served in the United States Navy and was honorably discharged in 1971. He is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives and has had extensive experience in healthcare administration, operations and finance. Mr. May has served and is currently serving on numerous charitable and business boards. Throughout his career, he has had a "patients first" philosophy in his interactions with the business, corporate and healthcare community. Mr. May has been married to his wife, Diane for 37 years. They have three grandchildren.
