Maria Robles, RN
Maria Robles, R.N. brings over 22 years of hands-on nursing experience to CPC. As a seasoned healthcare professional, she has worked in many areas of the healthcare field including emergency room care, oncology, pulmonary medicine, research, utilization and case management, and program development in both public and private hospitals. More recently, she has worked collaboratively with regional organizations, such as the South Coast Air Quality Management District, to raise awareness of the relationship between poor air quality and respiratory illness.
In addition to her duties with Californians for Patients Care, Maria serves on the Board of the California Pan-Ethnic Health Network and also the California Blue Ribbon Commission on Children for Foster Care. Maria also brings to CPC, her first-hand experience as a patient - both of chronic illness and as a cancer survivor.
Ms. Robles graduated from nursing school in 1984 from Pasadena City College and transferred to the University of California, San Diego to pursue a degree in Third World Studies. She continues to pursue her education today, attending on-line courses.

Californians for Patient Care (CPC) is a non-profit, patient care advocacy organization that believes health care is a human right. The focus of CPC is on access-to-care and the patient’s perspective in the improvement of our health care system. CPC also promotes and is an advocate for shared decision-making between patients and their health care providers.
We are looking for an experienced administrative assistant to provide support for the President and Special Projects Manager. Responsible for all administrative assistant duties, including but not limited to, all organization of business operations, contacts, data and materials as they relate to the efficient functioning of CPC and its projects. Duties includes managing calendars, arranging travel, preparing meeting agendas and materials, planning meetings, website maintenance, typing correspondence, filing, answering phones, maintaining supplies, preparing marketing documents and presentations, supporting Board meetings and maintaining Board documents, and providing general administrative support to supervisors.
Requires 3+ years of prior administrative experience in an office setting; ability to demonstrate competence in editing and writing; excellent customer service and communication skills; excellent organization and critical thinking skills; proficiency with MS Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Publisher, Photoshop and Outlook; ability to work independently; and a terrific "can-do" attitude.
